We left the "new" Jura creek parking lot (with outhouse) punctually at 8.00am. It was moderately windy but already +21c heading for +31c at 1.15pm on return. With conversation limited by the wind we made steady progress in the bone dry conditions to Door Jamb where we took a longer break. In the photo below, Clifton is attmpting to show off his new Rambler long sleeve T-shirt, but the colour blends in with the surrounds somewhat. There is a Rambler logo on his left upper chest.

The ridge to Mt. Loder was no problem so we enjoyed an early lunch around 11.00am. Views were good, but it was very hazy.

Both here and at Door Jamb, there was a pink ammo can with register inside, but we didn't bother to sign. These pink ammo cans seem to be propagating as this is about the 4th I've seen this summer. At least they are sturdy and probably waterproof, which is more than can be said for the Alberta Centennial canisters that disintegrated in days. What a farce that project was (personal opinion). There also seems to be an unending supply of condoms!

We returned back to the cars the same way passing 2 parties on their way up, to arrive at the cars about 1:15pm, close to plan. A good trip for a hot day. If you've never been there before, there's some route finding and scrambling on slabs, but the crucial thing is to stay to climber's right and not get sucked into the seemingly easy gravel paths on climber's left (they end in cliff bands).

Stats from data base: 7km, +790m in 5:15 hrs. Thanks to Clifton and Brian for their company from C,S & P David.
