We went up and down the well trodden trail to the old lookout on the top of Mt Burke in 4 1/2 hrs. Since the weather was mixed with rolling cloud and a cool wind with about +5c temperature, we didn't stay long on the summit. But no actual rain.
The main trail, which now follows the steep undulating old seismic line, had received recent clearing of deadfall and was in good dry condition. Only the occasional small patch of snow which was easily circumvented. Out of the wind and in the trees the temperature was very pleasant but once above treeline, the wind was cool. We donned jackets for the slightly exposed ridge ascent which one member declined and waited for us out of the wind. Reasonable views from the old lookout despite swirling cloud.

Most of us had a quick bite here before retreating back down to sheltered terrain and a more relaxed proper lunch. A bit of a long drive for such a short but enjoyable trip (nearly 2 hrs 1-way scenic drive for me from just north of downtown Calgary). Thanks everyone.
