This was the last week-day opportunity for the standard east to west scramble of Mt. Yamnuska before the area is closed until November 2021 for trail construction.

A prompt start of 8.30am was scheduled to ensure a parking spot and to avoid an anticipated hot day. We had no trouble following the well trodden trail to the east ridge and then west into the scramble zone. Despite a bear sighting earlier in the week, none was seen today. Steady progress to the chains which were passed without incident close to another group. The dry back side showed no serious issues and the summit was reached about 11.30am.

We enjoyed lunch in warm weather with a slight wind and the company of others including Rambler members Andre and Tina.

The scree run down the back of the west side was good fun
