A strong sense of camaraderie in the group, perfect weather, and little snowpack made for a safe and fun ascent of a ridge seldom done in December. Spirits were high as we climbed in the warm sun, sat admiring the views at lunch, and slowly descended as a group sharing rich conversation. The steepness and a few tricky patches meant that it took us just as long to descend as to climb - about 2 1/2 hours each way. The trip was borderline SC5 in a few places due to some slippery patches, but spikes weren’t needed.

Special thanks particularly to Carl and Sim for finding good routes, Jane for volunteering to hang back to make sure everyone got up the tricky sections, and Simon for rescuing my pole when it decided to head downhill without me. All I really had to do as coordinator was schedule the trip and show up!
