Report:

What a fun, fast, and friendly group! 5 of us left the cars just after 9, and the 6th was running late but hiked like a cheetah to catch up at the mini viewpoint halfway up. The sky was blue and the winds not as bad as expected. The descent to Prairie Creek was a bit treacherous in a couple of places but went quickly. Back at the cars at 12:10.

While 2 participants had to return to Calgary, the other 4 of us explored the Beaver interpretive trail that starts from the parking lot. It was a pleasant surprise! We ate lunch in the sun overlooking a huge beaver pond, watching what we first thought was a beaver (given the name of the trail plus the huge lodge) but then, when it came closer, turned out to be a muskrat. It was a nice exploration and we eventually headed for home at 2:00.

Thanks to participants Maria,Audrey,Pam,Cristina photos, and Mark for turning Prairie Mountain from what is often just a workout into such an enjoyable hike, from coordinator Ingrid.
