The heavy fog in Calgary started to lift at Redwood Meadows, and at the trailhead there was nothing but sunshine. There was enough soft snow over the icy trail that two of the group opted not to wear traction devices, but the rest of us did.

We had a leisurely lunch in the sunshine at the Kestrel Trail viewpoint, where there were crystal clear views of Moose Mountain, Jumpingpound Mountain and Cox Hill.

The temperature was rising during the day so we took a break on a sunny hillside on the Braggin Rights Trail where the temperature reading was 12 C.

We met some bikes on the trail, but not enough to destroy the hike on this beautiful day.
