The parking lot was full when many of us arrived for this hike, but we were able to park close to the parking entrance on the roadside.

It was overcast much of the day, keeping the temperature comfortably cooler than forecast and good for hiking.

There were a great variety of flowers along the trail and in the meadows and on the ridge. There was also a bountiful crop of brilliant yellow dandelions in part of the meadow, which out-dazzled the other flowers in that area.

Most of us scrambled up the rock step successfully - 3 went around to the right and up the steep trail up through the trees. On the return, most of us went down through the trees.

Climbing the step

There was a bit of a cool wind at the high point of the ridge, where we had lunch. We had prepared for hotter weather, but would have enjoyed a hot drink to warm us up! With our social distancing, we weren't all able to get in the photo frame for our 'summit shot'
