Report:

Weather wise it was an excellent day to hike through the badlands of this park. Sunny, not too hot, not too much wind. By our 10:00am arrival time the parking lot was quickly filling up as it was the Saturday of the May long weekend. Despite the number of other people in the park, we saw very few on the route we took. Each time I hike here the route is slightly different. We went as far as was feasible on the west side of the dry island than clambered up the side to our lunch spot overlooking the river.

After lunch we descended the north side of the dry island and in a circuitous route made our way back to the cars where we wandered down to the river before heading home. It was an enjoyable day with very pleasant hiking companions.
