It was a warm, sunny day for the hike. Unfortunately, the sun’s warmth did not reach much of the trail and there were portions that were muddy or snowy.

We did find a sunny spot on the second high point that gave us room for lunch and was also quite warm.

A look at the mountains showed that winter had not yet relaxed its grip.

Cox Hill

The descent to the Eagle Hill trail along the cutline had quite a bit of snow, but the snow was soft enough to not be icy , yet firm enough to support our weight.

Down the cutline

Only 3 other people were encountered on the trail. We all agreed that, despite the less than ideal trail conditions, it was nice to get out into the mountains. Back at the cars by 2 PM.
