Seven of us met at No 3 North Parking Lot at Nakiska and walked up the stairs of an abandoned Nakiska. We skied up towards Skogan Pass and found the snow quite good although the track was getting somewhat ragged. It was -14 when we started and it gradually warmed up especally in the sun. We met one other skier at the pass. The sun was out and the scenery was excellent.

Ramblers demonstrating Social Distancing at Skogan Pass/Loop junction

(Carl;s picture) The ski down was fast and snowploughing was the way to go. On reaching the junction at Skogan Loop, three of us decided to do the loop which turned out to have good snow coverage and was very enjoyable, while four decided to descend directly. By the time we got to the resort, the sun was affecting the snow which was becoming icy. Definitely more snow is needed and the track needs to be reset

It was good to get out and share the day with Rosanne, Philip, Jane, Cathy, Jim and Carl

Note: The gate crossing the road to Nakiska is closed at 4:30 pm
