With Inge's encouragement I posted this trip, although the weather forecast was not the best. But obviously Ramblers are not as easily discouraged by the weather, and our group of ten started out in what looked like a not bad day.

Manfred

There was only an old track leading into the valley that leads to Piggy Plus Col and the snow seemed pretty good.

But the weather forecast was correct, and by the time we reached tree line we were faced with an unpleasant wind and poor visibility.

Manfred

Encouraged by Bill's enthusiasm we faced the blistering wind and made it up to the col. The grand view towards the French Glacier and Mt.French, that can be had in good weather, did not exist, and there was not much interest in lingering. The skiing down from the col in flat light was quite challenging. But lower down the snow and visibility improved, and we had quite a good run down the gulley or creek bed. Most people enjoyed the run, and I did not feel so bad about having posted the trip. One personal note: The blisters from the frost bite I got in January reappeared, although I felt I had warm feet all day. I probably will not be skiing again this season.

Participants: Sim, Bill, Terry, Manfred, Inge, David, Cathy, Ulrike, Gary, David.
