The days skiing was notable for the warm temperatures. When we left the Sunshine parking lot it was -3 deg C, and when we returned it was +2 deg C. Once we got above treeline, the warm temperatures were offset by moderate winds which also helped keep the snow-pack in good condition.

We enjoyed tracks up from the campground. Higher up, Andre cut a nice trail through the trees avoiding the creek exposure on the climbers right.

Ben Wards, who many Ramblers know, reported a size 1 avalanche on the slopes we intended to ski. Today however, the snow seemed solid although a few "whomps" were encountered. No sign of the avalanche was found, having presumably blown in.

After two laps of great turns on the eastern slopes we traversed to the more westerly drainage that drops to the Healy Creek trail. Conditions were terrific here too, providing many pleasant turns.

Participants: Sim,Bill,John,Ray,Margaret,Chip,Katrin,Mark,Andre. It was great to see the two new members, Mark and Andre.
