Yet another fine day to ski in Kananaskis. We started from the Village and headed up Kovach under clearing skies. Conditions were good, the views were excellent and there was only one recently fallen tree that fortunately was not completely across the trail. The downhills were a little slick but speed control was manageable. For the climb up the Ribbon trail hill a few participants reached into their wax collection for softer wax to overcome slippage, some even resorting to Purple. At the lookout, lunch was enjoyed while basking in the sun. After that we continued and stopped at the junction to Coal Mine trail:

As it was not trackset and looked rather messy we decided to forego it as a sidetrip. While there, one of the groomers descended to the junction on a snowmobile which he had been using to pack the trail. He stopped to chat and we told him about the downed tree on Kovach. He said he was having a "chainsaw day" dealing with many downed trees along the trails. We continued down Hidden trail towards Ribbon Creek PL:

From there we looped back via Aspen trail and Kovach to the starting point, where the finishing temperature was about -4C. Laszlo measured 15.3 km and 300 metres elevation gain for the day.

Thanks to a fun group of participants that contributed to the camaraderie of the day: Ron C/S/P, Barbara, Laszlo, John, Carl, Brian, Jane, Ross, Gordon, John
