A good walk up on a decent trail to the lookout at Barrier Lake for an early lunch with scenic views. Unfortunately a strong wind made the -5c air temperatures feel very much colder. Although the trail itself had some patches of snow it wasn't very slippery which was a good job since I forgot microspikes, despite highly recommending them before hand. (a senior moment?). There were several other groups of hikers around, some with a dog.

Good to see some new faces and two from a few years back. I hope to have more of chance to speak with them on a later trip and possibly enjoy a skiing bushwhack. 14 km, 630m in just under 5 hours. Back in Calgary by 3.00pm.
