Activity:
Trail hike
Trip name:
Ridgeback
Coordinator:

Report:

It was back to fall-like conditions on the trail. Most of the snow had melted and the trail was bare in the places where the sun hit, and icy in the shady areas. Everyone wore traction devices for a substantial portion of the hike. We chose a sunny spot for lunch at the top of the ridge with a view of the the very icy looking Snakes and Ladders trail to the east.

The signup sheet gave the elevation gain as 244 meters, but with all the ups and downs of the trail, the actual elevation gain topped out in excess of 400 meters. As a result, some of the group opted not to do the Ridgeback #2 loop on the way back to the cars and instead to continue on the Tom snow trail.

We were back at the cars at 3:45 PM.
