We had a relaxed day, five participants starting out from Station Flats at 9:50AM, temperature a little below zero. After a little while, the temperature rose to +5 degr. C, the sun breaking through, feeling very mild with hardly any wind. There was some 15cm of fluffy snow cover. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch in the sun with great views at approximately the higherst point, no wind. John and Madeleine suggested to take the River View Trail above & along the Elbow River, which was a very nice alternative to the Elbow Valley Trail this coordinator was familiar with. Towards the end as we were hiking along the Elbow River, some clouds appeard. We were back at the car at 2:40PM, after a very nice and mild day. It was a great hike to start the winter season! Thanks all for joining!
