The day was cooler than we anticipated, with a cold wind as we crossed Barrier Dam and at the lookouts. There was quite a bit of snow on most of the trail, but little ice, so it was easy going up to the viewpoint (site of the former Pigeon Lookout) where we admired the view.

We continued up to Barrier Lookout (unmanned for the winter season) and had lunch on the veranda. The cold wind discouraged a long lunch, so we vacated our seats for the next group to arrive on the summit about 20 minutes later.

It was cloudy most of the morning, but we had increasing sunshine in the afternoon on our descent. The temperature was decidedly warmer as we reached the lower part of the trail.

Thanks to a great group, happy to get out for a hike this weekend, and to Cristina, Teresa and Bill for the photos.
