Trip Report
Trip Date:
8-Sep-2018
Activity:
Off-Trail hike
Trip name:
Lake Rae Overlook
Coordinator:
Francisco
Report:

We had a bit of everything, cloud, sun, wind, a few sprinkles and a full rainbow. After leaving the main trail we had no trouble finding the "abandoned" path that goes over the ridge and down to the lake. Contrary to advertised the larches, and there are tons of them, have not turned yet but the meadows have a nice orange colour.

800 feet and 45 minutes later we were on top of the so called overlook.

It was windy and cold so we had a short lunch , opting for another break by the lake

Looking back at the ridge we climbed.

After an uneventful hike back we were at the cars a little before 4 pm. Thanks to: Philip, Gary, Janice, Nardi, Clifton, Teresa Photos, Jane, Harold, Michael, Krystyna for a great day. Francisco C/S
