Activity:
Off-Trail hike
Trip name:
Paget peak and North ridge
Coordinator:

Report:

we were a bit disappointed with the hazy skies but you take what you get. After a break at the old fire lookout we followed a number of rough trails to the summit of Paget peak

Cordula on the way to Paget Pk.

In the saddle between the false and true summits

Paget Peak - Bruce, Inge & Peter with Niles in background

Group on Paget Pk.Our objective right of center

From there the ridge goes north with a couple of dips to the high point.

A fine ridgewalk with spectacular views

The final and steepest climb of the day, summit out of sight to the left

Can you spot a few Ramblers?

Excellent views from the top and a light breeze to keep the bugs away

Summit of the north ridge (2730 m)

After a long and relaxed lunch we retraced our steps to the first saddle and from there along a mostly level bench on the west side of the ridge as suggested by Bob Spirko

Coming down from the summit

There was a little confusion about the regroup point but we all made back to the cars shortly after 5pm. Ascent time: 4hr / Descent time: 3:15 hr. Thanks to all participants: David, Francisco C/S, Peter, Cordula, Jeannette, Inge, John, Bruce GPS track courtesy of John
