Trip name:

Report:

It’s too cold! That was the reason given for the group wanting to leave the lunch spot on Jumpingpound Mountain. Admittedly, since the temperature decreases about 6.5 C for every 1000 meters climbed, the temperature at the top was likely around 20 degrees. I suspect that the real reason was the we had spent most of an hour having lunch and it was time to head back to the cars.
On the way we up we passed an area that had been clear-cut right to the edge of the trail.

Clear Cutting right to the Trail

There weren’t many others on the trail – a few cyclists and a group of about 15 carrying nets chasing butterflies.

As we descended , the temperature rose until it was about 26 when we arrived back at the cars about 3:30. (14.4 km, 727 m)
