A nice day to get out to the mountains, although the views were not very clear because of haze (or forest fire smoke?). It felt humid on the ascent so it was a sweaty climb, but once above the trees there was a northeasterly wind which cooled us off. At the summit there was time for pictures and lunch:

Lunch on Prairie Mtn

The descent down the west ridge was a pleasant walk through the trees, with a light sprinkle as we neared the meadow at Prairie Creek. That lasted only a few minutes and the return along the Prairie Creek trail featured cloud, a few more sprinkles, rumbles of thunder and brief sunny breaks. It was only after we had driven a couple of kilometres on the drive back that the heavens opened up with a thunderstorm deluge. Thanks to a great group for joining me on the trip.
