After sorting out the car shuttle we started rather late from the Highwood meadows trailhead. Still quite a few snow patches left and a few brave flowers in the meadows. It took us a little over two hours to reach the high point of Grizzly ridge where we had our official lunch. Afterwards it was a question of following the long ridge south, mostly pleasant walking with a few rocky sections. At the south end there is a steep descent to the valley below. A few participants not wanting to enjoy the ensuing bushwhack decided to look for the trail mentioned in Daffern's guidebook. It took longer than expected arriving at the cars shortly before 5pm.
