It was sort of a gloomy day for the hike. The trail was wet and muddy in places and there was the occasional sprinkle of rain. However, this also meant that were not a lot of other hikers on the trail as we went up to the lake.

We arrived at the lunch spot about noon, but we didn’t sit facing the lake. Instead, we faced the other way so we could watch two snowboarders practicing on one of the larger patches of snow.

Snowboarders - one jumped the rock at lower centre , crossed over about 10 feet of gravel, and landed on snow

This also tempted Francisco and Peter to try a run using just their boots.

Canada day Lunch - Barb, Nadine, Maria, Krystyna, Francisco, Peter

After lunch, the usual hoards of hikers started to appear as we headed back to the cars. Just as we reached the cars at about 2:30, a serious rain shower passed overhead, getting us all nice and wet for the ride home.

Thanks to Francisco , Maria, Peter, Nadine (photos), Barb, Krystyna for joining me on this hike. Brian C/S
