The sunshine was summer hot, the aspen were greening up and the crocuses were in full flower on the upper slopes of Eagle Hill.
The trail was in superb condition, with only a very few wet spots where springs came out of the ground in the trail or nearby. On the return trip we took an old short cut, bypassed by a newly constructed trail to avoid boggy areas, but even here conditions were quite dry. Traffic was light. We saw no wildlife but you can't have everything! We enjoyed lunch on the new picnic bench at the top, except that it got too hot for some, who opted for the shade of a tree.
