It was bare pavement to a point south of Nakiska where the snow started and it came down fairly heavily for a while. We stopped at the Visitor Centre to put on boots and ran into Ramblers past and present. At the Boulton trailhead there was about 10 cm of needed new snow that had buried the tracks:

We chose to do the loop clockwise and got to break trail all the way up Whiskeyjack (possible lynx tracks across the trail). Some found waxing to be problematic (okay, okay, your scribe had the most issues) so it was slower going than usual. After a snack/first lunch break there we continued on Tyrwhitt and fortunately a couple of people came from the other direction so we didn't have to continue trail breaking. Second lunch was at the picnic table:

Greetings from Laszlo from under the tree

Our mini-thermometers indicated -8C. After the climb to Elk Pass it was a smooth run down Elk Pass trail:

Coverage was good on Fox Creek & Moraine on the return to the cars. Damian's GPS computed 17.7 kilometres, 330 metres elevation gain for the day.

Thanks to my co-adventurers for a good day in the mountains
Participants: Ron C/S/P, Chris, Jennifer, Laszlo, Bruce and Damian.
