An excellent day on the Lake Louise trails, the temperature at the start was -4C and didn't warm up much so the snow conditions were preserved. After an easy drive on dry pavement, on arrival we were the only cars in the Tramline parking lot. After the steady climb up Tramline we arrived at the lake:

Lots of skaters in front of the Chateau but unlike last year the parking lots at the lake were not full - maybe having to pay does deter visits. After dining at the side of the lake we headed up Upper Telemark and down to Lower Telemark:

for the commencement of a nice run through the trees. Then it was back up the Great Divide trail past the dog trucks (note: not food trucks) for the walk up to Tramline:

A nice glide to the bottom from there, where the temperature was -1C.

Thanks to a fun group for joining me for a great mid-winter ski, with very few other skiers on the trails. Participants: Barbara, Brian (photo) and Anne.  Ron C/S/P

Wildlife: none while skiing; on the drive out on the prairie a rough legged hawk flew close, while 3 song dogs were lounging on the Banff airstrip. On the return the Banff herd of elk were west of the airstrip, one male had a fine rack of antlers.
Not-wild life: 5 very happy looking dogteams went by on the sled trail beside Great Divide trail.
