Thursday was a 10 out of 10 day to be in the mountains - warm weather, zero wind and blue skies! Eleven Ramblers headed up Noseeum creek at 9:30 am and made good time in reaching the headwall. A short easy gully lead us to the trail up the headwall. At the top of the headwall we traversed left to the upper section of Noseeum falls and followed the trail to the left of the falls. Once above the falls we were in brilliant sunshine. The group headed up and to the right to the upper basin.

We took a short break at Noseeum Lake and enjoyed the warm weather and great views.

Access to the North ridge of Noseeum Peak was via a short talus slope which led to a narrow loose gully.

The group hugged the rock on the left of the gully to avoid rockfall. The traverse of the North ridge provided easy scrambling and superb views.

Once on the summit, we settled for a long lunch break and enjoyed the panorama  views. An extra bonus for the group was that 7 of the trip participants had not been to the summit of Noseeum Peak.

There aren't many better ways to spend a sunny Thursday in October

All smiles on the summit of Noseeum Peak

We were able to identify more than a dozen 11,000 footers from the summit. After an hour on the warm windless summit the group retraced their steps back along the ridge and down to Noseeum Lake.

Not wanting the day to end, we took one last rest break at upper Noseeum falls.
Thanks to Bill, Arnold, James, Dave, Paul, John, Clifton, Manfred, Evan and Alda for joining me Kevin (S/C) on a superb October outing in the the mountains.
