We had a perfect fall day for a wonderful hike.  Bluebird day, no smoke and no wind!

While it seemed rather cool at 4C at the start, we soon were making wardrobe adjustments.  In under an hour we were at West Wind Pass and there was no wind!  After a bit of a break at the pass we headed across the slope to the backside of our destination and took another break once we could see our goal.  From there it was the usual grunt up easy scree and well worn track to the summit.

We summited after a little more than 2 1/2 hours. Still no wind!

After a nice lunch break and a chat with fellow hiker John (who took our group photo) we headed back down with fabulous views of the Royal Group, Burstall/Smuts peaks, and the Old Goat Range.

It was just too nice a fall day not to enjoy another sitdown on the way.
