A pleasant start up to Elbow Lake with clear skies and comparatively cool temperatures.  The trip is an out and back walk of 20 km to the Tombstone Lakes primarily along old forestry roads with lovely views of rolling alpine meadows and lakes.

We arrived at the lakes shortly after noon and settled in for a leisurely lunch.  Some elected to climb to a small overlook above the upper lake, while others relaxed and chatted in the sun.  We were all relieved that the smoke of recent days had dissipated.

The return trip is slightly uphill most of the way to Elbow Lake and seemed longer than in the morning! The group took a lengthy rest at Elbow Lake before the final descent to the car.

Thanks to all participants for their cheerful company: Rosanne,Francisco,Maria,Mohsen,Angela,Cornelis,Ginger,Inge,Barb,Teresa, and Ross.
