After leaving one car at Noseeum Creek to avoid the boring walk back to the starting point, we headed up Hector Ck. and the waterfall, and followed Alan Kane's route description along the rock band towards Hector Pass. The interpretation of Kane's description by the coordinator made us slog on unpleasant scree past several rocky gullies to the end of the rock band. It would have been easier to go to Hector Pass and ascend from there.

Ramblers on the ugly high traverse.

After this torture we were rewarded with a pleasant rest stop and a view of Mt. Hector.

Reststop after slogging up the high traverse.

More scree hopping over rough and eroded looking scree took us to what Kane calls the Unnamed Peak. The view to the east was impressive and some of us lingered for a while.

After a short descent we joined the fast group on the actual summit of Mt.Andromache.

Naming all the peaks from the top of Andromache.

We had a wonderful view of the mountains in all direction.

No smoke around Mount Balfour and Hector Lake.

To complete the traverse, we followed the NW ridge partly on rock and at times on snow.

Ramblers on the nice part of the descent.

Several Ramblers who had done this trip before led the way. The descent on sometimes loose scree was not too bad until we got about three quarters of the way down. This last part could be described as not very nice. Some people might use more descriptive and stronger language. After this, and another rest, a short walk took us to Noseeum Ck. and the highway.
